Journal / Mini-Blog Overview

After many days of serious... thinking... I have decided that the most appropriate way to document my humble personal thoughts, opinions, ideas and info about things I have interest in (e.g. web design, graphic design, art & illustration, photography, technology, software, fitness, anime, manga, movies, music and a few other things) is through a Journal / Mini-Blog. I hope you enjoy your visit and find at least something useful or interesting!

Canon EOS M3 - part 1

Several calls and emails later I was finally able to pick up my long awaited Canon EOS M3 + EF-M 18-55 IS STM Kit which I pre-ordered on the 1st of April.

Since this camera is a new product and only available in select countries I can understand the reason for the delay. I wanted it for the upcoming conference I am attending so it was perfect timing.

Canon EOS M3 18-55mm Kit Box

The usual Canon cardboard, plastic bags and bubble wrap. Simple and gets the job done so can't complain.

Canon EOS M3 18-55mm Kit Includes
  • Digital Camera EOS M3
  • Zoom Lens EF-M 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 IS STM
  • Neck Strap EM-200DB (with Canon/EOS logos)
  • Battery Charger LC-E17E (Only for LP-E17)
  • Power Cord (Australian plug in my case)
  • Battery Pack LP-E17
  • Interface Cable (USB)
  • Booklet, Pamphlets and Warranty Card

Contains everything you need to get started.

Content Overview

The neck strap is thinner to match the small form factor of the camera and lenses so makes sense. Alternatively any standard DSLR strap can be used.

Accessory quality seems fine even if they are made in different countries (China and Philippines). The Canon EF-M 18-55mm lens, rear cap and front pinch cap are made in Taiwan and all look well made. The camera and body cap on the other hand are both made in Japan.

To be continued...

Happy photo/video shooting ^_^
